Prescreen Conversation

  • A Prescreen is very, very similar to a Tech Screen except now instead of just gathering their technical strengths/what they do best you’ll now be targeting the Prescreen to a specific job and determining live if that candidate will be a good fit for the job you are prescreening them for.
  • If they are a good fit, you’ll sell them on the company and sell them on all the details of the role and why you think they’re a good fit.
  • If they’re not a good fit whether that reason be compensation, location or technical abilities, you’ll want to be honest with them and why they’re not a good fit.
  • If they’re not a good fit tell them that you will stay in touch with them for future roles and summarize/confirm what type of roles they want/you’ll be targeting for them.
  • As you did for Tech Screens, the #1 thing you want to do is be GENUINE, make yourself stand out from other recruiters. We’ll role play this a lot before you start doing your own as this is a key skill of Technical Recruiters. For now, shadow as many as you can by your Coaches and listen to how they phrase things/get the necessary information.
